I’ll preface in saying I loved my MomCozy pump. So this says a lot! I write this review with all due respect to MomCozy!

What comes with it:

The single pack I received came with a 27mm flange with a 24mm insert (17mm, 19mm and 21mm inserts will become available too!) and a scrubbing brush which the MomCozy did not, so bonus points there! Those are two very important and helpful things!

It also comes with a guide book, manual, carrying bag, charger, nursing bra extender, extra diaphragm and extra duckbill valve.

My MomCozy double goes for $139 at the time of original posting, so bonus points on the affordability already! In retrospect I personally only need one. I’m practically exclusively breastfeeding as baby forgot how to use a bottle. He is 6 months old now and I pump to use the breast milk for teething and mixing in with his oatmeal. (I suggest freezing it in cubes if you do this!) If you exclusively pump I would honestly suggest a wall unit as primary and these babies to make daily tasks possible! I HATED being tethered to a wall. That lead me to pumping much less. Once I switched to the wearable, I actually pumped a lot more!

Ease of assembly

Put the diaphragm on, pop the duckbill valve in, put the flange on lining the spout up at the top, put the pump on top and boom! Done! No tangly wires and tubes. The flange feels snug, which is ultimately a very good thing. I was confused at first because with my MomCozy, the flange in not nearly as snug. With this one the flange grabs on to both the inside AND outside of the opening! The duckbill spot can be a little tricky to reach but once you figure it out it isn’t a big deal!

Charging speed and Battery life

I personally don’t pump very long, usually around 10-15 minute bursts. I have used it for about 3 sessions and it still didn't need charged!

Ease of cleaning

Thankfully it comes with a perfect sized scrubbing brush! Yes, this is necessary to remove the milk fats. Super easy to clean, and I love the shape of the scrubbing brush provided!

Comfort

First things first- make sure your nipple is centered in the flange! That’s the hardest part about ANY wearable breast pump. Easiest way to do that is to bend over so your breast hangs and guide it on. This pump is nicely breast shaped without anything bulky about it! Much more comfortable than my MomCozy!

Capacity

It holds 6oz, and I measured with water too to test out its capacity. I filled the pump up as far as it seemed to go and poured that in a measuring cup. It came out to 7oz! So it holds true on its 6oz! It has an auto shut off feature if it gets too full too!

Suction strength/Settings

3 different modes with 12 strength settings each… 🤯

Very strong! Remember max strength doesn’t always give you the most, so play with it and figure out what mimics your baby best and feels comfortable. I love that it’s so customizable! Seriously comparable to a wall plugged pump! It also has an auto shut off feature at 15 minutes, which is around as long as you should typically pump. I've also been told that duration doesn't matter as much to your supply as frequency does, and with this hands-free option that can make a huge difference in how often you pump! I know it has for me!

Sound level

Very quiet! About the same as the MomCozy, if not a little quieter!

Leaking/Spilling

Make sure you press the flange on well, clicking onto the collector on the full perimeter. Also make sure you line up the pour spout! I had 0 issues! It feels super secure with the tightness of all the seals.

Versatility

Because it is much more breast shaped it hides away much easier. I don’t see the pump (electric part) getting knocked off the top like it would my MomCozy.

When you bend down, the milk collects on the front and it’s a lot harder for it to flow around things to get to the spout when you’re wearing it. So much better for bending than the MomCozy!

Other MomMed products

This is how I got the opportunity to be a product reviewer for MomMed! I absolutely love this kit, as when you are TTC you need a LOT of ovulation strips to accurately track and confirm ovulation. Let's be honest, when TTC it's easy to blow through a ton of pregnancy tests too! This is WAY more cost effective than even the dollar store tests. It comes with some great helpful handouts and little disposable urine cups! I got my first faint positive with these tests, I find them to be very sensitive! If you prefer the mid-stream tests, they have those too! (https://amzn.to/3JHFVeq)
